Introduction
Do you write “killer articles” and see the flop? Have you been surprised by some of your most successful articles? Most of us probably do not know when an article will go viral. In fact, how do you determine the success of an article?
Success
We all have our own expectations of a successful article. After speaking to several writers, these are some of the ways they deemed articles successful:
It was published in a big publication
It was my highest earner
I had over 1,000 claps
I had 20-plus comments
It got boosted
It paid me more than $100
Some of these are relatable to me and maybe you. I then did a Google search to discover some of the most successful authors, and here are the results.
William Shakespeare: His plays and poems have been translated into over 80 languages and are performed worldwide.
Danielle Steel: She is the best-selling living author, with over 800 million copies of her books sold.
James Patterson: He is the best-selling author of the 21st century, with over 300 million copies of his books sold.
J.K. Rowling: She is the author of the Harry Potter series, which has sold over 500 million copies worldwide.
Stephen King is one of the most popular horror writers of all time, with over 350 million copies of his books sold.
It made me wonder what these writers had deemed as a success before and after their “big break” in writing. Expectations change, and I find that very interesting.
Should You Write In More Than One Language?
Whether or not it is worth writing in multiple languages depends on your writing goals. If you want to reach a wider audience, writing in multiple languages can be a great way.
Many people in the world speak more than one language, and by writing in multiple languages, you can reach all of them.
Writing in multiple languages can also help you learn more about different cultures. When you write in a language that is not your own, you are forced to think about the world differently.
This can be a very enriching experience and help you become a more well-rounded writer. Of course, there are also some challenges to writing in more than one language.
Learning to write effectively in a new language can take time and effort. You may also need someone to edit your work to ensure it is grammatically correct.
Overall, whether or not it is worth writing in more than one language is a decision only you can make. However, if you are willing to put in the time and effort, it can be a rewarding experience. Who knows, you might just find that it is a rewarding experience.
How Can You Be Succesful?
Many factors contribute to success as a writer, but some of the most important include:
A love of reading and writing. If you don’t enjoy reading and writing, sticking with it long enough to become successful will be very difficult.
A strong work ethic. Writing is a lot of work; it takes dedication and perseverance to succeed.
A willingness to learn and grow. The best writers are always learning and improving their craft.
A thick skin. Not everyone will like your writing, and that’s okay. You need to be able to take criticism and feedback in stride.
A sense of humour. Writing can be serious business, but it’s also important to be able to laugh at yourself and your work.
If you have these qualities, then you have the potential to become a successful writer. Just remember that it takes time, effort, and dedication to achieve success. Don’t give up on your dreams, and keep writing!

Here are some additional tips that may help you on your journey to becoming a successful writer:
Read as much as you can. The more you read, the more you’ll be exposed to different writing styles and techniques.
Write every day. The more you write, the better you’ll become at it.
Get feedback on your work. Ask friends, family, or other writers to read your work and give you feedback.
Don’t be afraid to experiment. Try different writing styles and genres to see what you enjoy the most.
Don’t give up. It takes time and effort to become a successful writer. Don’t give up on your dreams, and keep writing!
In Conclusion
We determine our own success based on our expectations. In the beginning, success for me was making back my $ 50-year membership money.
Next came starting a publication with more than one thousand followers, then growing it to five thousand, and so on and so forth.
I determine success in other ways now. Regarding writing, I would love to know what success is to you and have your goals changed since day one. Let me know in the comments section below.
For me it's easy. Earning money writing. If I'm good at something it makes no sense that I do it without a monetary benefit. This goal automatically means that more people need to read my writing. So writing for an audience & learning how to market myself.
