Introduction
I don’t know how to explain what happened last night; I don’t even know if it was a dream or if it actually happened. I am unsure if this is an article, but my feelings are real. I need to write it down, and I may publish my experience.
My mother passed away three months before my wedding in 2015, but last night, she paid me a visit to my bedroom, and we had a cwtch (cuddle).
Working Late
I worked late last night, felt very tired and forced my food down, knowing I needed the energy boost. I don’t like eating too late, but it was a necessity, having probably only eaten around 1,000 calories that day.
Everyone was in bed and fast asleep, I did my usual checks to make sure everything was locked up and got myself ready for bed. I must have fallen asleep before my head hit the pillow, and I was away in noddy land, probably snoring my head off.

The Dream
I was in an old building much like my junior school; walking down the cold concrete stairs, my hand slipped down the metal handrail; as I approached the bottom, I saw a few pieces of paper on the floor, on it a drawing of a pirates outfit coloured brown and black.
I noticed a woman at the bottom of the stairs she was holding a bag, I assumed the paper was hers so bent down and picked it up. As I raised my head to return the paper, my eyes filled with tears.
“Mum, oh my god, mum, it’s you”

She said nothing to me but had a big smile on her face; I cwtched (cuddled) into her and felt her warm body next to mine. I could really feel her. My brain was spinning. How could this be? How was she here?
I shouted with tears of joy, “mum I miss you so much”
Then my wife woke up, “Rob, what's wrong?”
As I sat up wide awake, my mum stood next to my bed; I held her hand………..
“It’s my mum. Can’t you see her?”
I looked at my wife, Laura. She looked confused and rubbed her eyes, turning the lamp on next to her bed.
“Look, see I said” As I turned back, my mother had gone, I burst into tears “MMMMMUUUUUUMMMMMMM, Where are you? Please come back MMMUUUUUUUMMMM”

The Reality
My wife Laura started crying too, “Rob, what is going on? Please tell me?”
I said nothing, realising it must have been a dream, but how could it have been? I felt her; I held my mother, and she smiled. She was in my bedroom. I saw her with my own eyes.
I needed some fresh air, a drink and a few minutes to myself; Laura knew I had something to process and left me alone; she knows me well enough to have done so.
Was The Experience Real?
I still do not understand what happened. Was it a dream? A vision, Was it real? Did I experience an out-of-body experience? The honest answer is I have no freaking idea.
What I do know is that for those few minutes, I saw my mother and felt so happy; I wanted to go back to sleep and see her again; I wanted to tell her about my life, and I hoped she was proud of me.
I want to show her my two daughters, who she had never met; I want to tell her about my wedding day because she died three months earlier.
“Mum, I miss you so much”
Hmmm, I don't know exactly what it is you experienced.... I just know how much I wish I could experience it, too. My mom passed away in 2019. I have had only 2 or 3 dreams with her in them since then, and they felt just like dreams, rooted in memories of the past, when she was still alive. They were very fleeting and the sort of thing where you wake up and you know you just had a dream, but you have only the faintest memory of it, and even that is quickly fading. I'd give anything to be able to hug my mom..... or to hear her laugh.
I feel like, since it felt real to you, you should fully embrace it as such and hold onto that new memory that the two of you were so lucky to make. Because real or imagined, dream or spiritual visitation, the fact of the matter is YOU got to FEEL the warmth of your mother once again and you got to see her smile! What an amazing gift!
Thank you so much for sharing, it gives me hope. Sincerely, MAK
I believe God sends us comforting angels. He must have known you needed that visitation. 🙏❤️
